About Us - Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee was set up within Wisdom Services in 2008.

The purpose of the committee is to

  • Provide a forum for case consultation.
  • Offer guidance on ethical questions and procedures as they arise.
  • Define and specify overall ethical policy for Wisdom Services.
  • Help assure that the service’s religious and moral responsibilities are met.
  • Raise committee members awareness in order to be more responsive to the ethical educational needs within the service.

The membership of the present committee is a combination of members of the Board of Management, professional and management staff, front line staff, family members, members of the pastoral care team, the Chaplin to the service and members of the public.

The Committee also has an Ethical Consultant.

Currently the committee is working on the ethical implications of end of life care.
