Welcome & Value Statement
Welcome note from Jean Quinn D.W Provincial Leader: Daughters of Wisdom, Great Britain and Ireland Province

On behalf of the Daughters of Wisdom I welcome you to our Wisdom Services in Ireland website.
The Story of Cregg House, now known as Wisdom Services, began over fifty years ago when the Daughters of Wisdom came to Sligo at the invitation of the Irish Government's, Department of Health.
The service has grown over the years and has consistently evolved in order to meet the changing and often complex needs of those we serve. Today, Wisdom Services endeavour to offer a value led service to over 200 individuals with intellectual disabilities, their families and advocates.
The ethos of Wisdom Services has and continues to be a deep respect for the inherent dignity of each person. We therefore strive to support the realisation of each individual’s potential through a holistic view of our world. Wisdom Services seeks to support each person to direct their own life as much as possible, to acknowledge that each person has rights and that each person has dreams for their own life which should be defining. Each person has life potential and are unique irrespective of their disability. Wisdom Services therefore endeavour to provide a focused person centred service.
I hope that you will find this site informative as it details our range of services both at the Cregg House site and in the local community
Our mission is to provide a supportive and empowering person centred service to people with an intellectual disability which assists each person to lead as fulfilled and meaningful a life as possible.
Values
We will pursue our mission by respecting the dignity and rights of the individual, by listening to and empowering service users to achieve their desired personal outcomes whilst acknowledging the dignity of risk. Our mission incorporates being connected to our service users, their families and support networks, and the wider community.
We acknowledge the value of consistency and continuity so as to:
- Foster and support meaningful relationships
- Have the highest standards of quality and care
- Build teams and support each other
- Acknowledge the key role staff play in supporting service users in their daily lives
As an organisation we wish to have a willingness to change and reflect a generosity of spirit, we aim to continue to learn as individuals and an organisation and lead in the development of services.
