Beechwood

Beechwood provides sheltered work opportunities for 35 service users. The majority partake in a recycling project in conjunction with Abbott Ireland Ltd.

The aim of the project is both to facilitate the engagement of participants in meaningful work and to develop a range of personal and vocational skills. Participants are provided with the opportunity to enhance their hand eye co-ordination, manual dexterity and fine motor skills through the range of activities provided by the work. The recycling project also promotes teamwork and helps participants to develop an awareness of recycling within the community.

While the principal work in Beechwood is provided by this project other occupational roles are also available such as housekeeping, clerical work and operating a switchboard.

The recent year has seen the re-location of our Day Service art instructor to the Beechwood Centre. This has increased the on site range of art activities available.
