Beechwood

The Beechwood building is located close to our Millennium Garden. The programme based here, which is part of Team le Cheile, provides sheltered work opportunities for 35 service users. The majority work on a recycling project in conjunction with Abbott Ireland Ltd.

The aim of the project is both to provide meaningful work for all participants and to aid the development of a range of personal and vocational skills. Everyone is provided with the opportunity to enhance their hand eye co-ordination, manual dexterity and fine motor skills through a range of activities. The recycling project also promotes teamwork and helps participants to develop an awareness of recycling within the community.

Whilst the principal work in Beechwood is provided by this project other occupational roles are also available such as housekeeping, clerical work and operating a switchboard .

The past year has seen the re-location of our Day Service art instructor to the Beechwood Centre. This has increased the range of on site art activities available.
