Nu-Haven Enterprise Centre

The main focus of the Centre is community inclusion in all aspects of occupational, educational and leisure activities. The aim is to move away from centre-based activities to a setting where service users are encouraged and supported to set their own goals and objectives.
The Centre provides a range of educational and leisure activities including:
- FETAC Modules: (Further Education and Training Awards Council)
- Workability Training Project:
- Personal development: advocacy
- Community awareness
- Travel training/safety awareness
- Job sampling/ work experience
- Computer work/literacy skills
- Art
- Cookery (Sligo VEC funded)
- Drama
- Pastoral care
A range of occupational opportunities are provided which include:
- Dust Buster Cleaning Service A mobile work crew consisting of ten members and one support worker.
- The Perfect Press Ironing Service Operates from the Nu-Haven Centre and is run by a team of eight service users.
- Craft Work Department The service users sell craft items through membership of the ‘Origins Farmer’s Market’ in the grounds of Sligo IT.
- Recycling Project In collaboration with Abbot Ireland
- Volunteer work Enable Ireland, Sligo Social Services etc.
