Recreation - Team ProVita
The Recreation Department, Team ProVita, aims to provide a service which enhances the daily life of each individual service user. It aims to promote equal opportunities in the area of sport and leisure activities for people with an intellectual disability, endeavouring to encourage and support each individual to achieve their optimum level of performance and enjoyment in their chosen activities.
The staff in Recreation focus on the service user’s abilities not disabilities and seek to encourage each individual to engage in a wide range of social, recreational and physical activities at a level of their choice.
The Recreation team include members with nursing training and specialist qualifications in Special Olympics coaching, advocacy, volunteer work, events management, swimming and gym instruction. Other skills include CPR, life guard qualifications and full training in manual handling.

All activities delivered are determined by the service user’s Personal Outcomes needs assessment.
